Pro Hac Vice Status Granted

News / 03.04.2017

On April 3, 2017, Mr. Bolton was granted pro hac vice status by the U.S. District Court in the Western District of Pennsylvania. This allows him to be admitted to the bar of the Western District of Pennsylvania to act as counsel for his corporate client in an ongoing pharmaceutical fraud case.

In order to obtain pro hac vice status, counsel must be knowledgeable of U.S. Federal Criminal Rules and the Local Rules of the Court, and be in a member of good standing in the bar where they primarily practice.

Normally, the U.S. court has discretion to grant admission to an out-of-state lawyer to appear pro hac vice. Canadian counsel are occasionally admitted when they are an accomplished trial lawyer with particular expertise in the subject matter of the case.
